Michele Brache Agpalo is an American lyric soprano currently residing in the Chicago area. She recently completed a Masters degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University where she studied under Sunny Joy Langton, Alan Darling, Richard Boldrey, and Ken Smith.
At Northwestern, she played Countess Almaviva in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Rosina in Corigliano's The Ghosts of Versailles, and Anna Maurrant in Kurt Weill's Street Scene. She has performed as the featured soloist in Mozart's Exsulate, jubilate, Rossini's Stabat Mater, and Handel's Messiah.
Praised for her expressiveness, versatility, and beauty of tone, Michele has received numerous awards including; a full scholarship to Northwestern University, the Musician's Club of Women Farwell Trust Award, and The Bel Canto Foundation Bravo Award. Michele has worked in opera, operetta, professional choruses, oratorio, and concerts. She actively performs throughout the United States and abroad and has 10 years of experience teaching voice to students of all ages.
Michele believes in the importance of healthy singing across a wide range of genres, from musical theater and popular music, to classical and opera repertoire. She is a member of VOX 3 Collective, a Regular Member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, as well as the soprano section leader and soloist at Glencoe Union Church in Glencoe, IL.
